Spine Out : novelists read personal essays

Spine Out is a NY-based literary event that Emmy produces along with Susanna Einstein in conjunction with Dixon Place. (She also hosts it.)

Spine Out features novelists reading personal essays.  The shows are presented in conjunction with Dixon Place, a non-profit arts institution and literary space on the Lower East Side with (ahem) a full bar. Each show is unique, featuring new guests and essays that are revealing, funny, provocative and above all else - honest.

Past guests include David Arnold, Leigh Bardugo, Libba Bray, Jessica Brody, Michael Buckley, VC Chickering, Matt De La Peña, Gayle Forman, David Levithan, David Martin, Annabel Monaghan, Kass Morgan, Daniel José Older, Danielle Paige, Joy Peskin, Margo Rabb, Seth Rudetsky, Abby Sher, Eliot Schrefer, Susan Shapiro, Anthony Schneider,  RL Stine and Scott Westerfeld.

Emmy conceived of Spine Out along with her producing partner Susanna Einstein, of Einstein Literary Management, as a way of building community between local novelists and their readers.
